Resin-bound surfaces are smooth, non-slip, permeable surfaces that are made by combining a high-quality, UV-stable, translucent resin with natural stone chippings. The stone chippings provide the colour(s) and are mixed with the resin in a forced action mixer. As the aggregates are combined with the resin, this creates micro-voids that let water through.
The resulting mixture is applied to a surface, raked, and trowelled smooth. Because of the micro-voids, the surface is permeable, letting water pass through, so no additional drainage is needed. The resulting surface offers much more traction than other options, preventing users from slipping.
