Resin-bound surfaces are built by combining one or more aggregates (coloured natural stone chippings) with a high-quality UV-stable, water-based polyurethane resin. The resin is translucent, so the surface colour comes from the aggregates we use.
We combine the aggregate(s) and resin in a forced action mixture to create a mixture that contains micro-voids. These micro-voids let water pass through, making resin-bound surfaces porous. The mixture is applied to a service, raked, and trowelled, creating a smooth, non-slip surface with no loose stones.
