What Is a Resin Bound Surface?
Resin-bound surfaces are permeable surfaces that let water pass through, so they don’t require drainage and are Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) compliant.
They are made by combining a water-based polyurethane, UV-stable resin with coloured natural stone chippings (aggregates) in a forced action mixer. This process creates micro-voids in the mixture that let water pass through. The resin we use is translucent, so the colour comes from the aggregates. Choose any colour or mix and match up to four different colours.
These surfaces are applied over a surface, raked, and trowelled, leaving behind a smooth surface with no loose stones to worry about.
